England U16s See Off Luxembourg, Remain Perfect

England Under-16s completed the 2011 Division B European Championships preliminary round with a perfect 4-0 record after defeating Luxembourg 81-64 on Sunday afternoon.

England finish atop of Group A after the first round, and will now advance to play second place finishers in Group B, likely to be either Slovenia or Netherlands, for a place in the quarter finals.

England were led by 18 points from Mo Soluade, with Sam Round and Tyrell Isaacs joining him in double figures with 13 and 10 points respectively. Kingsley Okoroh flirted with a triple double in just 21 minutes as he finished with 8 points, 13 rebounds and 8 blocked shots.

  • England got out to a quick start leading 15-3 after 1 quarter, but Luxembourg won the second and third periods to be down just 6 going into the final period. A strong fourth allowed them to seal the win.
