QUARTET AXED AS LEWIS PREPARES FOR DUTCH

Great Britain Under-20 coach Tim Lewis has trimmed his squad to 16 ahead of two friendlies against the Netherlands in Bristol this Friday and Saturday.

Four players have been cut with youth performance chief Warwick Cann declaring that it was a tough decision after just two warm-up ties.

“Ultimately physical fitness and the ability to be in first-class physical shape was a key criteria for this stage,” said Cann.

“We are now not only preparing for each season but with an eye on the following year by selecting bottom age players. For some of our players who have missed out will hopefully be seen again if they continue to develop their skills and fitness”

GB U20 squad to face Netherlands: Shore Adenekan (Essex Pirates Academy), John Bantock (Simon Fraser University), Jeff Dirkin (Rollins University), Alasdair Fraser (University of Maine), Harrison Gamble (Reading Rockets), Lee Goldsbrough (Providence College), Will Hall (Reading Rockets), Alex Marcotullo (Northwestern University), Ali Mackay (Davidson University), Levi Noel (Unattached), Lee Reilly (Edinburgh Kings), Ryan Richards (Gran Canaria), Will Saunders (South Carolina Upstate), Jack Thompson (Milton Keynes Lions), Adam Thoseby (Utah State University), Devon Van Ooostrum (Baskonia)
