GLASGOW HEEDING WAKE-UP CALL

Nick Livas has claimed that Glasgow Rocks have to take heed of their latest wake-up call and stop sleep-walking on the court if their new-look line-up are to challenge for the BBL title.

The American guard admits his side were embarrassed to give up 96 points in Sunday’s defeat to Guildford Heat.

And although the Kelvin Hall outfit are just two games into the league campaign, Livas admits the Rocks need to stop the rot or risk a long cold winter.

“This year so far, it’s been a tale of two teams for us,” he said.

“We either come out energised and play that way the whole game. Or, as in our two losses, we come out flat and let the other team get away. You don’t want to dig a hole for yourself because it’s hard to get out of it, especially against good teams. It’s tough.”

The Rocks travel to winless Newcastle Eagles on Friday.
