BUCS Home Nations 2010 Tips Off Tomorrow

The Home Nations are going to do battle on the basketball court

The British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) biennial Home Nations competition will tip off in Edinburgh tomorrow (13 April 2010) with the selected men’s and women’s university sides of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland competing for the basketball titles.

The schedule is as follows
(M) denotes men’s game, (W) denotes women’s game

Tuesday 13th April
England vs Wales (W)-10.30am
England vs Wales (M)-12.30pm
Scotland vs Northern Ireland (W)-2.30pm
Scotland vs Northern Ireland (M)-4.30pm

Wednesday 14th April
England vs Northern Ireland (W)-10.30am
England vs Northern Ireland (M)-12.30pm
Scotland vs Wales (W)-2.30pm
Scotland vs Wales (M)-4.30pm

Thursday 15th April
Wales vs Northern Ireland (W)-9.30am
Wales vs Northern Ireland (M)-11.30am
Scotland vs England (W)-1.30pm
Scotland vs England (M)-3.30pm

England are the defending champions in both the men’s and women’s competition from Edinburgh 2008 and are the overwhelming favourites for the overrall title across all sports after not losing since it’s inception in 1993. Click here for a full programme of events and rosters of all teams.

Unfortunately I couldn’t be there to film (I’m broke and prices to Edinburgh aren’t sensible!), but with any luck should be able to keep track of what’s going on and provide daily updates.

If you are based in or around the Edinburgh area, make sure you get down there for what should be some brilliant basketball-it is free for spectators.
