Rhode Island kept its NCAA tournament hopes alive with its best defensive effort of the season in a 63-47 win over Saint Louis in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament on Friday.Bean Eaves played 13 minutes, going 1/4 from the field (0/1 threes) for 2 points, adding 2 rebounds and 1 assist.

Rhode Island (23-8) will play No. 17 Temple (27-5) in the semifinals on Saturday. The top-seeded and two-time defending champion Owls beat St. Bonaventure 69-51 earlier Friday (see below).

The Golden Lions (16-15) will face Texas Southern in the final for a bid to the NCAA tournament.

A game-opening 24-8 run led two-time defending champion Temple to a 69-51 victory over St. Bonaventure on Friday. Ogo Adegboye scored 10 points in 22 minutes (3/7 field goals, 2/5 threes, 2/3 at the line) and added 1 assist in 22 minutes in the loss.

The Bonnies finished 17-16.
