The Stony Brook Seawolves won their fifth straight, 55-44 over the Hartford Hawks. It was a huge defensive effort, holding the Hawks to just 34% shooting from the field.
Former Reading Rockets big man Danny Carter had 2 points (1/1 from the field, a dunk) in 10 minutes of action.
SBU improved to 16-7 overall with the win, its best start since 1990-91. The first-place Seawolves are now 8-2 in the America East, their best record after 10 conference games since joining the America East in 2001-02.
