The Hoopsfix Foundation will bring back the Hoopsfix Pro-Am Summer League for the third consecutive year, taking place from June 16th until July 14th at Brixton Recreation Centre, South London.
The five week summer league will bring together the best of British basketball at the mecca of London basketball in the Rec, the home of the Brixton Topcats.
Targeted at elite level players, some of whom are rarely play in organised competition in the UK, it has seen numerous GB Senior internationals take to the floor such as captain Carl Wheatle, Akwasi Yeboah, Amin Adamu, Devon van Oostrum, Kavell Bigby-Williams, Jordan Williams, Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye, Rob Gilchrist, Matthew Bryan-Amaning plus many more, while on the female side, GB capped players included London Lions’ Holly Winterburn, Ire Ozzy-Momodu, Shanice Beckford-Norton, Shequila Joseph and Sevenoaks Suns’ Renee Busch, amongst others.
The Pro-Am has already built an esteemed list of MVPs, with Maryland-bound Isi Ozzy-Momodu claiming it in Year 1, Shanice Beckford-Norton in Year 2, and on the men’s size NCAA Division II student-athlete Peter Turay in Year 1 and England Commonwealth Games gold medalist Kayne Henry in Year 2.
The event will likely be NCAA certified again to allow Division 1 student-athletes to play and will feature 8 men’s teams, and 4 women’s teams, taking place from 10:30am until 6pm on Sundays; 16th June, 23rd June, 30th June, 7th July & 14th July.
