Take a look at the improbable buzzer beater that gave Sweden a 51-48 win over the Great Britain Under-20s this morning in Portugal.
After GB’s Jules Dang Akodo kept his cool to knock down two free throws to tie up the game at 48, Sweden’s Sheriff Drammeh – who has just completed his Freshman year at the University of Hawai’i – hauled up a hail Mary from 3/4 court, which banked in to leave GB shellshocked.
The long range shot put an end to GB’s comeback, as they had fought back to get in the game from as many as 15 down.
Drammeh finished with 13 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists to lead Sweden. Dang Akodo led GB with 14.
The defeat dropped GB to 1-1 in their preparation games, as they will look to bounce back this evening against hosts, Portugal (6pm tip).
