Samantha Gordon Appointed to BBF Board

The British Basketball Federation (BBF) have announced that Samantha Gordon has joined the Board as an Appointed Director (Finance).

Arriving with a keen interest in the role of sport in Britain and with a particular interest in how it can improve general health and community life, Gordon brings impressive qualifications and experiences to the table.

She was Director of Finance at Norwich City Football Club for seven years (2008-2015) and a Trustee of the Community Sports Foundation (2011 to 2015), where she was very successful in using her skills in Strategic Planning and Leadership, Finance and Operations, Project Management and Commercial activities.

“I am delighted to welcome Sam to our Board as an Appointed Director responsible for finance,” enthused BBF Independent Chairman, Nick Humby.

“Her passion for sport and experience as Director of Finance at Norwich City will be a valuable addition to our Board.

“I would also like to express on behalf of the Board our thanks to Will Calvert, who has overseen the finances of British Basketball during recent years with such dedication and skill – and will now hand over the reins to Sam.”

Gordon has also previously held responsibilities for the company secretarial function, financial controls, risk policies and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements for more than a decade.

The new appointee is thrilled to have been handed the role and added, “I’m delighted to be joining the Board of the British Basketball Federation at such an exciting time for the sport.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead and working with all stakeholders to successfully deliver the future strategy.”
