GB Go 2-0 Against Portugal

Great Britain got their second win in as many attempts against Portugal on Sunday afternoon, cruising to an 86-66 win at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

Kyle Johnson was scorching from outside as he scored 21 points on 8/10 shooting, including 4/6 from beyond the arc. Luol Deng had 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists, whilst Eric Boateng added 11 points on 5/6 shooting in 13 minutes.

Head coach Chris Finch commented after the game:

“Kyle Johnson shot the ball very well and has been a great find overall for us, but all the players we have are great finds and they all contributed well in this game.

“Overall though tonight was a great performance, yesterday was rusty so it was much improved today, especially our second half showing, lots of things to be happy about and everyone was really focused and played really sharp.”

Joao Gomez led Portugal with 16 points.

GB will now prepare for their match-up with USA on Thursday in Manchester.
