Middlesex Shock Brunel: BUCS Premier Recap Week 7

Brunel University became the last team to lose their perfect record on Wednesday, suffering a shock 72-67 loss at the hands of Middlesex.

The loss, coupled with a LSBU win at Oxford, doesn’t remove Brunel from the top of the South, but gives them a tie with LSBU for best record in the conference at 6-1.

In the North, it was one sided victories across the board as Durham steamrolled over Northumbria for a 38 point victory, Worcester had little trouble with Glasgow, whilst Leeds Met won by 35 over Edinburgh behind season highs from Henry Wilkins (32, 17 in the fourth) and Armand Anebo (22 and 16 boards).

Durham beat Northumbria 96-58

Worcester beat Glasgow 77-54

Leeds Met Carnegie beat Edinburgh 98-63

Premier South

Middlesex beat Brunel 72-67

LSBU beat Oxford 73-62

Outside of the Premier leagues, Leeds Met Carnegie II’s Josh Metcalf went OFF for a season high 55 points, going 14/18 from three! Carnegie devoured Durham II 124-58 as they remain undefeated at the top of the Northern 2B league, with a 6-0 record.
