BA London Leopards were crowned the 2012 National Cup winners on Sunday afternoon, stealing the victory out of the hands of Bristol Academy Flyers with a 64-63 win at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.
Bristol Academy Flyers led from the opening tip until the final three minutes of the game where Leopards took their first lead behind a huge run by led by Vernon Teel. The teams traded baskets until two clutch hoops from David Buchberger in the last 1 minute 20 seconds put London in front for good.
Tyrone Treasure hit a three at the buzzer to cut the final deficit to 1 point.
Teel was named MVP as he finished with 23 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists, whilst teammate Ousman Krubally added a 15 point-15 rebound double double. Douglas McLaughlin-Williams had 21 points and 9 rebounds to pace Bristol.
