Durham Get Revenge, BUCS Recap Week 1

Durham University got revenge for their Final defeat to Worcester last season, steamrolling past them 85-53 on the opening day of the 2011/12 BUCS basketball season.

In the South, Brunel got past regular title challengers Oxford 86-78, as the new season sees Oxford with only two returners, playing without last year’s core of Stephen Danley, Reed Doucette, and Will Scott. Brunel were led by Daniel Dunscombe’s 20 points, whilst Tom Politi added 18.

Last year’s third place finishers LSBU opened their BUCS season with a comprehensive 86-52 victory over newly promoted LSE. Southbank were Led by 29 points from Karolis Petkus and a double double of 14 points and 11 boards from Jason Sayers. Avelino Antonio added 11 off the bench. LSE were led by M.Kiska with 16 points.
