BUCS Home Nations 2011: Day 3-England Retain Title
The English Universities side beat Wales to retain title of the BUCS Basketball Home Nations title on Thursday, cruising to a 99-56 victory.
England opened up an early lead and won the first quarter 27-12 but the Welsh found their range and pulled back to within single digits at times to trail at the half 49-33. The second half was plain sailing for England with every player scoring and contributing at both ends of the floor.
England had six players in double figures for the third game in a row, led by Armand Anebo’s 20 points. Damoy Robertson added 14, David Ajumobi 13, Kevin Bulger 11, and Jeff Lyle and Paul Nelson had 10 points each respectively.
Elsewhere, Scotland routed Northern Ireland by 20+ (score TBC) to take second place.

The English Universities Women’s side also retained their Home Nations title, beating Wales, 103-39, to go 3-0 like their male counterparts.
