Notes

  • Lindsay Whorton (previously of Drake University-player profile) had three of the top five performances of the weekend, the girl can score! Much like the men’s team however, Oxford lacked depth which limited their team performances.
  • Leah Rush (former University of Oklahoma and WNBA player) finished the weekend second in points averaged. Rush ran the point a fair amount too in the competition, distributing to her team as well as controlling the glass for Durham. It would have been good to see her assists numbers on the weekend.
  • It’s a real shame that BUCS are not prepared to complete full stats for the weekend, hopefully this will change next year (if not I am going to find someone to do it…any early volunteers?)
  • BUCS Final 8’s was, again, a great weekend of basketball, the level of the women’s competition has improved annually for the last few years. Let’s hope this continues and that BUCS really push the advertising next year, attracting a huge crowd would complete the weekend.
