MVP blogger Ladi Brown snaps his cold streak in dramatic style.
This week we had another successful run of games. We faced London Met in a BUCS league game and then Coventry in an important National League fixture. Both resulted in wins for LSBU/ Brixton. The subsequent boost in morale has helped us prepare for giant killers London United, who have seen off numerous Division 1 teams to earn their place in the National Cup semi-final. We have this weekend off to refine our offensive sets and work on defensive principles… Wish us luck, please.
SIX THREES: ALL GOOD NO EVIL
In my previous blog I said I was freezing on the bench to the point I’d considered taking an electric heater to the game (haha). But after a good week of training and a one-on-one shooting session with Division 2’s best three-point marksman, Luke Baker, I went 4/5 from down-town against London Met…and beat that performance by going 6/6 from the land of plenty against Coventry three days later. Fingers crossed I continue shooting well.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SEASON
I am going to rank the top three plays of our season every month. And the winners are:
1. Dave Ajumobi scoring 15 points in a row in the second quarter, showing a variety of moves in the outburst against Derby.
2. Me hitting 6/6 from three-point range versus Coventry.
3. Toms Adorian’s put-back dunk against Leeds.
STUDENT ATHLETES
Study comes first, people, so focus on your education. Basketball will take you to some unparalleled heights, but when your knees or low back give up, you need something to fall back on. So hit the books in the meantime. There are numerous institutes which provide sports scholarships, so take advantage of it while you can.
Until the next time… PEACE
