Alasdair Fraser Leads Scotland U18’s To Victory Over Portugal

Scotland U18’s beat Portugal 71-58 yesterday behind a huge game from Alasdair Fraser. The University of Maine commit finished with 29 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots to lead his team to victory in their final first round game of the Division B FIBA European Championships.

The victory was bitter-sweet however as Bosnia and Herzegovina will advance to the qualifying round, not Scotland, despite finishing with the same record (2-2), after winning the tie-breaker.

Lee Reilly added 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals, whilst Grant Mackay had 12 points and 8 rebounds to join them as the only other player in double figures.

Full box score and play by play can be found here. Scotland’s next game is against Switzerland tomorrow (Wednesday) where they begin the battle to finish 9th.
