The Everton Tigers strengthened their stranglehold in the BBL Championship playoff sports with an 83-95 victory over the struggling Essex Pirates. It snaps a run of back-to-back league defeats for the Tigers, while condemning the Pirates to their tenth straight loss, with their last win coming in mid-December.

James Jones led all scorers with 30 points for the Tigers, whilst Taner Adu led Essex with 21.
