Current BBL Trophy holders Newcastle Eagles had no troubles dispatching the EBL side Reading Rockets last night, finishing with a 42 point rout, 102-60.

It was plain sailing throughout for the Eagles who led 24-8 at the end of the first, 55-22 by half time and 77-42 going into the fourth and final quarter.

Newcastle were led by Charles Smith’s 27 points and Joe Chapman’s 20. Jason Sayers led the Rockets with 20 himself and was backed up by former Wolves guard Kenneth Saunders’ 18.
