Following on from the signing of his multi-year contract with CB Gran Canaria, Luke Nelson will be loaned out to Real Betis for the 2017-18 season, both clubs announced today.
It means Nelson – who is the team’s sixth signing – could still end up playing in the ACB next season, as the side from Sevilla is awaiting a decision on whether they will have a place in the top flight or LEB Gold.

Nelson, who was aware he would be loaned out for the first season, is currently in Israel with the Great Britain Senior Men’s team – he has not suited up in their first two preparation games as a minor injury precaution.
The 2017 Big West Conference Player of the Year averaged 16.9 points per game in his Senior year at UCI, despite having missed half of the season through injury.
The news was first reported by Gigantes earlier this week.
