Kyle Johnson Joins London Lightning in Canada

Kyle Johnson has signed for London Lightning in the Canadian top-flight with the season only starting earlier this week.

The GB Senior guard has not played in the 2016-17 season so far with his last competitive action coming during the summer’s EuroBasket 2017 qualifiers.

Johnson averaged 6.5 points per game during the campaign with a best points tally of 14 in both games against Luxembourg.

The soon-to-be 28-year-old has played in the NBL before having played for the Brampton A’s prior to a spell in Italy with Angelico Biella his last club.

And, Lightning Head Coach Kyle Julius is pleased to have picked up Johnson for their NBL season.

“Kyle is a proven player that has played at some of the highest level in the world,” he said.

“He’s also proven himself in the European championships with the British national team. He adds depth and maturity and we know he is going to fit in well with our group.”

Johnson is set to make his debut tomorrow against Niagara.
