The British Basketball League (BBL) have announced they have agreed a broadcast deal with BBC to have next month’s playoff final shown live on the BBC Sport Website and BBC Red Button.
The final will take place at London’s O2 Arena on May 10th, and a large crowd is expected in attendance to watch the 2014-15 season finale.
“The BBL have always been at the absolute forefront of this technology and this broadcast is yet another example of the league leading the way,” said BBL Commercial Director, David Leyden Dunbar.
“May the 10th at The O2 will represent British Basketball’s biggest event in our history and the fact that it will be broadcast to the UK via the BBC further highlights what a landmark event this promises to be.
Ed Pervical, BBL Chairman, added: “The BBL is honoured to have secured a broadcast partner for our Play Off Finals. This broadcast creates a technological first for UK Basketball in streaming the entire game live and in full HD quality to the BBC Sport website”.

“Basketball is a popular sport and we’re pleased to be bringing audiences the Play Off Final on the sport website and the red button,” said BBC’s Executive Editor, Ron Chakraborty.
Initially, the playoff final was set to just be broadcast as part of the league’s BBL TV service, before announcing their deal with BBC.
