2015 BBL Playoff Final to Be Held at the O2 Arena

The 2015 British Basketball League playoff final will take place on the 10th May in front of an expected 17,000 strong crowd at the O2 Arena.

It marks another step forward for the league, which has seen a string of sell-out finals events at both the NIA, Birmingham and Wembley Arena in London.

“It’s a real coup and exciting step for us to be making the move to The O2 for what is always a fitting finale to any BBL season and it’s difficult to imagine a more appropriate backdrop to what is always a truly memorable occasion,” said Andy Webb, BBL Chief Operating Officer.

“The venue is already synonymous with big basketball events and we can’t wait to put on the kind of show which has seen sell-outs at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham for the BBL Cup Final and at Wembley Arena last year at the 2013 BBL Play-off Final.

“To be having to make this move due to the demand from fans is a satisfying measurement of progress and makes the footprint we are putting down for British Basketball even more prominent.”

Rebecca Kane, General Manager at The O2 said: “We are delighted to be hosting the 2015 BBL Play-Off Final in our arena. Sporting events always have such an electric atmosphere here so it’s fantastic to have this to look forward to next year. We are keen supporters of British sport, and I am very excited demand has been so high for the event that it is being moved to our iconic venue for the first time.”

The BBL pre-sale takes place on Thursday 13 February 2014 at 9am with tickets going on general sale at 9am on Monday 17 February, with tickets available at AXS.com or by calling 0844 824 4824.
