Henry Wilkins Signs Two Year Deal With Team FOG Naestved

Henry Wilkins has signed a two year professional contract for Danish side Team FOG Naestved.

The 1990 born guard, who has spent the past three seasons with Leeds Carnegie whilst completing his degree, has become one of the best shooters in Division 1 after opting to stay in the UK for his basketball career to date.

“I look forward to getting my first overseas experience with basketball and am excited to get a chance in Denmark to work hard and develop my game further,” commented Wilkins. “It has always been a goal of mine to move into the professional game after my time at Leeds Carnegie, Team FOG Naestved are giving me that opportunity and I’m excited to get out there and prove myself.”

The team has signed him with the goal of regaining their status as one of the best teams in Denmark, after finishing a game below .500 last season. “With Henry Wilkins we have secured a good player with potential for further development and a player who wants to work hard to develop, so we are very satisfied,” the Director of Team FOG Naestved added.

Wilkins may be best known this season for his heroics in the National Cup Final, as he brought Leeds back from a 12 point deficit in the last two and a half minutes to win the title. Renowned for his athleticism and shooting ability, Henry was a fan favourite amongst Leeds fans.

“Henry has always had the athleticism and skill to move into the professional domain,” said Leeds Carnegie Head Coach Matthew Newby. “Added to that, the maturity that he has gained this season, I think he will go far in Denmark.

“He has been key for us in all three of his seasons and will be missed, but to see your players move onto professional careers in basketball is always an aspiration.”

Hoopsfix wants to wish Henry all the best with his rookie year in Denmark!
