England to Face Scotland at International Summer Slam

Tayo Ogedengbe BBL England Select

basketballscotland’s International Summer Slam takes place this weekend, where an England BBL Select Team will face Scotland’s Senior Men in a two game series at Meadowbank in Edinburgh.

The International Summer Slam is a basketball extravaganza which hosts one of the fifteenth official FIBA Europe Under 14 tournaments in Europe, as well as the aforementioned Scotland vs England game, and a Scotland Futures Women test series against Austria.

England feature some of the best home grown talent in the BBL, whilst Scotland will be featuring the likes of Olympian Kieron Achara, Glasgow Rocks star Gareth Murray and Alasdair Fraser, fresh from another successful year with Maine Black Bears.

“We are looking forward to the weekend,” Scotland Head Coach Iain MacLean commented. “The guys have been working very hard and Luxembourg was great for team bonding. We have a long term plan, and our main goal is the European Championship of the Small Countries next year. Against England, we will put 100% effort and we will fight to win.”
