Pops Mensah-Bonsu Signs With Cajasol Sevilla Until Season’s End

Great Britain star Pops Mensah-Bonsu will shortly be returning to the court after signing with Spanish ACB side Cajasol Sevilla for the remainder of the season, the club announced today.

Mensah-Bonsu, who is yet to play this season as a result of undergoing surgery after the London 2012 Olympics, comes in to replace American forward Latavious Williams who has been forced out with a left knee injury.

The 29-year-old forward is due to arrive in Seville on Tuesday and will undergo a medical examination before joining the team. If all goes well, Pops will make his Liga Endesa debut on Sunday, at home against Blusens Monbus Obradoiro.

It will be his fourth stint in the ACB; he played a single game for Granada at the end of the 2007/08 season, spent some time with Joventut Badalona the following year and then joined Caja Laboral during pre-season ahead of their 2010/11 campaign but left the club to join the New Orleans Hornets in the NBA.

Pops joins GB teammates Dan Clark (Asefe Estudiantes) and Devon Van Oostrum (Caja Laboral) in the ACB.
