England U16s fell to a last place finish at the 2012 Division A European Championships after a 72-69 overtime loss to Russia on Sunday afternoon.

Russia kept their perfect record in the classification rounds in tact as they have already secured their place in Division A for next season. For England however, their inaugural Division A campaign was a disappointing one as they managed just a single victory, finishing with a 1-8 record and being demoted back to Division B for next season.

Joe Swindells had 17 points to lead England, Theo Oghide had 16 and Jules Dang Christian Akado finished with 7 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 6 steals.

Box score.
