The Great Britain Under-20 women upset previously unbeaten France today to give their chances of advancing to the qualifying round a huge boost.

Head Coach Damian Jennings was extremely pleased with the win:

“This was an excellent performance tonight against a very athletic and talented French team.

“We mixed up our defence enough to cause frustration, and tonight we added weight to that with some of the most composed, threatening offence we have played to date.

“We are still hungry for a back-to-back set of performances, so we are looking forward to playing Holland tomorrow.”

The GB U20 Women, competing in Division A for the first time after achieving promotion last summer, had their noses in front for most of the way and pulled clear at the end, finishing the game on a 6-0 run as France mis-fired.

Ella Clark (pictured) scored 16 points adding 7 rebounds and 2 blocks, whilst Renee Busch joined her as the only other player in double figures for GB with 12 points and 6 boards.
