Eagles Win The Trophy For 4th Time in 6 Years

The Eagle’s Charles Smith was named MVP

The Newcastle Eagles retained the BBL Trophy title yesterday, winning for the fourth time in six years with a 111-95 victory of Cheshire Jets. It is the second cup competition final defeat for the Jets this season.

Charles Smith was named Final MVP with 27 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. He was backed up with 21 points from Joe Chapman, whilst British centre Darius Defoe also had 21 on 10/12 shooting.

The Jets were led by 28 points (11/13 shooting), 14 rebounds and 3 steals from Shawn Myers.
