GB forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu made a statement to the New Orleans Hornets’ management on Monday night, dropping a 19 point, 10 rebound double double on the Memphis Grizzlies in a 96-91 loss for the Hornets.
Mensah-Bonsu is averaging 5 points and 5.5 rebounds in just under 15 minutes per game through 6 games of the pre-season thus far, making his case for keeping his roster spot throughout the 2010/2011 season.
Pops added 1 assist, 4 steals and a blocked shot in his 32 minutes of action (not to mention a nice alley oop dunk off a lob from Chris Paul which can be seen at the 0.49s mark of the below video).
The Hornets’ pre-season will finish this Thursday against Oklahoma City.
