Spent the season rehabbing from two shoulder surgeries in Austin, Texas...Returned to action full court action in summer 2011, representing Great Britain Under-20s at the 2011 Division B European Championships where he averaged 22.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg and 1.6 apg, including a 32 point, 14 rebound outing vs Israel and a 28 point, 9 rebound, 6 assist, 4 block game against Finland...off the back of his performances with the U20s, Richards was called up to the Senior side where he was the last cut from the team...led the Senior side in scoring against Netherlands in a warmup game, scoring 16 points.

Missed first half of season...joined BBC Monthey in Switzerland in early 2010, where he averaged 13.3ppg, 5.2rpg in 6 games before sustaining a season-ending shoulder injury...declared for the 2010 NBA draft in April...caused a buzz around the web after his performance at the pre-draft combine...drafted by the San Antonio Spurs with the 49th pick in the second round
