I think he was mentioned by GB as a possibility early on but has never trained with a squad, so I assume they looked into it and it wasn't a goer - maybe he is ineligible for the same reasons as Azubuike, has already played for Nigeria, or just has no interest in playing for GB? There doesn't seem to be any explanation anywhere online though.
