Three up and coming young players have been added to the Marshall MK Lions 2009-10 line up for Coach Vince Macaulay as a result of Trials.

Lithuanian, Irmantas Griksas, and young Brits, Maximillion Simon and Craig Pringle have all been put through their paces and as a result of their performances at trials will all wear the black and gold for the Lions.

Griksas, 23, is 6’7”, and a power forward. Attending High School in Virginia in 2004, his school, Raonoke Catholic HS won the state championship with Griksas averaging 11points and 7 rebounds a game. Since then the athletic forward has played for Silute in the Lithuanian Second Division and in 2008 averaged 10points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.. “Irmantas is a real find, very polished a real leader and someone I think will be spectacular this season” commented Macaulay.

Simon meanwhile, has some experience of the BBL having run out with London United and London Capital. Standing 6’6” tall he is an exceptional shooter. A graduate of Brunel University the guard is very versatile, “Max comes across as very motivated and understands what team is all about, I think he is natural at the off guard spot but there is a shot he could be a point guard” added Macaulay.

Craig Pringle, 20, is an ex- East London Royal. The 6’4” forward is nephew to Keith Pringle who starred with the Hemel Royals in the early 90’s.. “There is so much British talent around and I’m always keen to make sure they get a shot at pro-ball at our club. I actually don’t believe we should be encouraging youngsters to go to college in the states, it is time for us to understand that everything is in place here to develop our own talent, Craig has huge potential and there are many like that who should get a day in day out opportunity” said Macaulay.
