Myerscough & Charnwood to Represent England at ISF World 3×3 Championships

Myerscough College men and Charnwood College women will represent England at this year’s International School Sport Federation (ISF) World Schools 3×3 Basketball Championships.

The event will take place in Tallinn, Estonia, from June 17-21, as both team’s squads will feature a number of junior internationals.

Hoopsfix All Star Classic U17 MVP and England U18, Zion Tordoff, will headline Myerscough’s squad, joined by England U18 teammate Ayo Nuwe, England U17 Matthew Hodgkinson and Bulgarian Radostin Papazov (pictured).

Myerscough College’s Head of Basketball, Neal Hopkins, said: “This is a huge opportunity for some of our students and will provide them with an experience that will last a lifetime.

“It’s not every day you get to compete on a world stage against some of the best talent from other countries. It’s going to be an unbelievable trip and marks a real high point for the players, staff and the college – to be given the chance to represent England at an international event is something we are incredibly proud of.”

Meanwhile, Charnwood will feature WBBL first year players and England U18 teammates Anna Popovic and Harriet Swindells, England U17 Nicole Hofmann, along with WEABL Player of the Year Ruchae Walton.

“I feel privileged to be chosen to go to this tournament after a great year with our team,” commented Anna Popovic ahead of the travel to Tallin.

“We are so excited for the experiences in Estonia and look forward to the games ahead.”

Both teams will find out their first round opponents at the live draw on June 16 in Estonia.
