England U18s Cut to Twenty Following Manchester Camp

Following their camp last week at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester, the England Under-18 squad has been cut to 20.

England took on Myerscough Select on the Wednesday as part of their three-day Easter camp (which ended up tied at 85 following six ten minute quarters and an incredible game tying buzzer beater from Josh Kanini), before making releases on Thursday.

“We had to lose quite a few talented players from the programme this time around but overall, we were pleased with the standard, attendance, desire, focus and effort of all the players on camp,” Bucknall said.

“The evening game against Myerscough offered us the opportunity to see everyone play in a competitive environment were they could have the opportunity to apply what we had been working on in the previous practice sessions. Each of the six quarters of play were pretty close and Myerscough offered us a reasonable standard of competition.

“We have now trimmed the squad numbers and my staff and I now look forward to developing the team for the Division B European Championships.”
