Toronto Raptors to Play Orlando Magic in 2016 NBA Regular Season Game in London

Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic will play in the annual NBA regular season game held at the O2 Arena in London on January 14th, 2016, it has been announced.

The Raptors make their return to London having played back-to-back regular season games in 2011 when they played Brooklyn (New Jersey) Nets on two occasions.

“NBA Global Games 2016 in London is a great platform for our players and staff to represent the NBA and bond with Raptors fans overseas,” said Raptors Head Coach Dwane Casey. “We look forward to an exciting atmosphere for our game against the Magic.”

Orlando last played in London back in 1993 for a pair of pre-season games when they had a certain Shaquille O’Neal on their roster. Current Head Coach Scott Skiles was also part of the squad over 20 years ago and is looking forward to returning to the English capital.

“On behalf of the Magic organization, we are looking forward to returning to London for NBA Global Games 2016,” he said. “I remember playing in London with the Magic in 1993 and I am sure our current players will relish this unique opportunity.”

Last season saw the Milwaukee Bucks comfortably beat the New York Knicks in front of over 15,000 people at the O2.

Tickets for the sixth regular-season game in London will go on sale at the beginning of the 2015-16 NBA season.
