Jamell Anderson Signs New Deal with Leicester Riders

Leicester Riders have re-signed British forward Jamell Anderson to a new deal, as he returns for a fifth season with the club.

Anderson has made continued progress during his time with the Riders, and was in no doubt about returning for another season after his previous multi-year deal expired.

“It’s been an incredible few years playing with the Riders,” said Anderson. “I am excited about putting pen to paper for the club again. I love working with Coach Rob and he was a big factor in my decision to stay for another season.

“It will be another progressive year for the club with the new Arena and the nucleus of the side staying together. We’ve only just finished for the season and I’m looking forward to it already.”

The 24-year-old averaged 7.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game as a regular starter in Rob Paternostro’s line-up, and has come a long way since making his BBL debut with Essex Pirates in 2009.

Anderson first joined the Riders in 2011, and has gone on to win four pieces of silverware with the club during his time in the Midlands.

The league and trophy runners-up have already tied down American point guard Neil Watson to a new one-year deal, while Conner Washington, Anthony Rowe, Levi Noel and American-Italian Tyler Bernardini are on multi-year deals.
