The roster for the 2015 Hoopsfix All-Star Classic Under-17 has been revealed, featuring some of the top 1998 and 1999 born players in the country.
The game, which will be played on Saturday May 23rd at Brixton Recreation Centre, will be headlined by last year’s Under-16 MVP, Jelani Watson-Gayle from the Newham Youngbloods, along with England Under-18s Henri Langton from Loughborough Riders, Luke Mitchell from Notts Nova, Dominic Scott-Robinson from Oaklands Wolves and RJ Eytle-Rock from London Greenhouse Pioneers, where he just won an U18 National Championship.
Peckham Pride will be well represented with the triplet of Kemar Hawes, Thai Segwai-Lodge, and Gedi Juozapaitis who will provide strength on the perimeter.
Ipswich feature two players in the game, with England under-16 Caleb Fuller – one of their strongest performers on their recent trip to Slovakia – and 6’10” big man Jonny Hall, an under-the-radar centre who is still growing.
England U17 Evan Walshe, who was the second leading scorer in last year’s U16 game, will join Dominic Scott-Robinson as a representative from Oaklands Wolves. Walshe’s England U17 teammate from Cherbourg, Sam Van Oostrum of the Sheffield Juniors Saints will also take to the floor.
A number of year younger players, all from the England Under-16 programme, will feature in the game. Lewisham Thunder see Josh Edwards and Jacob Iwowo, who took part in this year’s Jordan Brand Classic International Tour, make the cut, while this year’s U16 National Champion and Final MVP, Kaiyem Cleary, from Manchester Magic will also suit up.
The athletic Ryan Murunge from London Westside Rangers will provide force inside, along with Ashley Briggs from Solent and Croydon’s Tariq Balogun.
Mixing it up at the small forward positions will be Leeds Force’s Micah Savery Richards and Bradford Dragons’ Zion Tordoff.
The coaching staff and team breakdown will be announced shortly.
