Former GB U20 international Jordan Spencer has been named as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Freshman of the Year after an impressive campaign with Augustana College.
The 20-year-old averaged 12.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.4 assists in 20 conference games for the Vikings, which also earned him a spot on the NCIS All-Second Team.
Spencer scored a career-high 20 points last week at Upper Iowa, having dished out a career-best 10 assists last month in his first double-double display against Minnesota State. He finished the conference play with shooting percentages of 47 from 3-point range and 82 from the free throw line.
The 6’2″ guard represented the GB under-20’s at consecutive European Championships, averaging 6.4 points per game last summer, having also played for England at youth international level.
Augustana are the No.1 seeds in the NSIC Sanford/Health Tournament and won their opening round game with Spencer contributing 13 points and 5 assists.
