Carmelo Anthony Expects to be Back for London Game!

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony has said that ‘as of now’ he expects to be back in time for next week’s game in London.

‘Melo’ was speaking to the media yesterday, as he explained his cautious approach to resting his knee injury ahead of their game with Washington.

Head Coach Derick Fisher is also hoping that Amar’e Stoudemire (knee) and Andrea Bargnani will also make their return against the Milwaukee Bucks at the O2 Arena next week, according to ESPN writer Ian Begley.

The Knicks roster was weakened as a result of a multi-team trade earlier this week, which sent guards Iman Shumpert and JR Smith to the Cleveland Cavaliers, while centre Samuel Dalembert was waived.

“It’s a tough situation,” Anthony admitted about the changes. “From a basketball stand-point, losing three rotation guys including two guards who were a big part of what we had going on here. That’s tough to deal with.

“From a non-basketball stand-point, to lose two friends in Shump and JR is tough. Those guys will be missed, especially by me.

The Knicks have lost their last 13 games and are bottom of the Eastern Conference with a 5-33 record.
