Matthew Bryan-Amaning Signs Deal in German BBL with Ludwigsburg

Great Britain Senior Men’s Matthew Bryan-Amaning has a secured a deal to play in the German BBL this upcoming season after joining Ludwigsburg.

The 6’9″ forward competed at the NBA Summer League in Vegas this summer before making his return to the GB National Team, where he featured in the EuroBasket 2015 qualification campaign, after 4 years since his last competitive appearance with the senior side.

The move to the Bundesliga will see MBA go head-to-head with fellow GB team-mate Myles Hesson, who joined Eisbaeren Bremerhaven on a four-month deal.

“It’s good to know where I’m playing, as it’s been a long summer with a lot of travelling,” said MBA, who was the Hoopsfix All Star Classic MVP in June.

“I’m excited to play in the city of Ludwigsburg and in the German league; the BBL is getting a lot of respect in Europe and having a couple of British guys is a good look.”

The 26-year-old finished last season by helping French side Boulogne achieve promotion to Pro-A, where he had played earlier in the season at Antibes. He also had a brief stint in the BBL with London Lions following his release from Korean side Anyang KGC.

MBA posted this picture on his Instagram account as he flies out today:

“Summers officially over (been a long 3 months) heading to the airport to Ludwigsburg Germany”
