Ovie Soko Signs First Pro Deal in France

Ovie Soko will begin his pro career in France after deciding to join Pro-B side Boulazac Basket Dordogne.

The 6’8″ forward impressed in his senior year at Duquesne after averaging 18.4 points per game, which helped earn another call-up to the initial GB Senior Men’s roster.

Soko had to sit out the entire 2012-13 season after transferring from the University of Alabama Birmingham to Duquesne after three years with UAB.

According to reports, Soko was also pondering a move to Greece to play for Rethymno but opted for a move to the South of France.

The 23-year-old confirmed the move on his Instagram page, saying “I love my life, going to be starting off my pro career in the south of France, feel blessed, excited, but more hungry than I was before, thank God for the path he has given me, but am not satisfied and have much to prove.”
