Ali Fraser Forced Out of GB Squad with Knee Injury

Scotland international Alasdair Fraser has withdrawn from the Great Britain squad for this summer’s EuroBasket qualifiers.

The 21 year-old, who won 12 GB caps after making his debut against Puerto Rico at the Copper Box last year has picked up a knee injury and will take no further part in camp. No replacement will be called up at this time.

“I am obviously disappointed not to be able to compete for GB this summer but I wish the team and everyone involved great success,” Fraser, who did not play in either of GB’s games against Latvia this weekend, told gbbasketball.com. “I am sure they will do a great job and secure qualification for EuroBasket.”

This leaves a squad of 13 for the upcoming preparation games against Belgium, following Conner Washington’s release from camp last week. Matthew Bryan-Amaning has arrived in camp but will play no part this weekend, while questions remain around Ogo Adegboye who received no mention in GB’s latest press update.
