England U18s vs Ukraine

England Under-18s routed Ukraine 72-40 in Italy on Saturday night to win the 12th annual Torneo Internazional Valle D’Itria title.

The win means England finished the preparation tournament with a perfect 3-0 record against Division A opponents, also beating the hosts, Italy, along with Greece.

Luke Nelson had 17 points to once again lead England, with Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye adding 12, Tyrell Isaacs 9 and Jules Christian Dang Akodo, Mo Soluade and Kingsley Okoroh with 6 each.

The tournament brings an end to the Under-18s’ preparation games, as they prepare to head out to the Division A European Championships beginning on the 18th July in Latvia. Drawn in Group D, they will face Ukraine, Turkey and Croatia.

So much for all those , so knowledgeable “fans” of the game, who were so critical of Coach Bucknall.. Perhaps they now realise just what has to be done to achieve what the squad has achieved so far.

The coach, and of course his young players, have done a great job so far and one can only wish them the very best of success in the Div A tournament.

Outstanding efforts by all involved, let’s hope they can maintain momentum when they get to Latvia. Congratulations to Coach Bucknall, his staff and all the players!

Be cool. Critical is fine, but if you're rude, we'll delete your stuff.
