Theo Turner (1994 Born) Commits to Seattle University

Theo Turner has committed to NCAA Division 1 school Seattle University for the 2013-14 season, becoming the third British big they will have on their roster.

1994 born Turner will join Jack Crook, who has just finished his freshman year, and Shore Adenekan, who will be joining the Redhawks after two years at Lamar Community College.

“It feels good knowing that there are going to be other English players there,” said Theo when talking to Hoopsfix, but went on to say ultimately it wasn’t the biggest factor in his decision. “I think it will help with the transition a bit, but apart from that, the school, the basketball and the coaches were my main influence.”

“The school has great academics and the conference they play in, the WAC, is very competitive, going up against strong competition week in week out. Me and my mum went to visit the school for 2 days, it was surreal, they also made the effort to come out and see me play.”

The 7’0″ Turner, who has spent time with Northumbria/Newcastle Eagles, Canarias Basketball Academy and Tees Valley Mohawks this season, says he is ready for the work that lies ahead.

“Next season I just want to get bigger and stronger and continue to improve at the next level against tougher competition. What ever role they want me to, I think I can make an impact on rebounding and helping the team overall.”

Turner was also receiving interest from Idaho state, Wofford College, Colgate University, and Niagara University.

Hoopsfix wants to wish Theo all the best with his NCAA Division 1 career!
