Grinnell’s Jack Taylor Drops NCAA Record 138 Points!!

Jack Taylor 138 Points NCAA Record

Jack Taylor 138 Points NCAA RecordAstounding news from NCAA Division III last night as Grinnell’s Jack Taylor scored an NCAA record 138 points! That is not a typo…1-3-8.

Taylor, a sophomore guard for Grinnell, shot 52-for-108 from the floor, 27-for-71 from three-point range and 7-for-10 from the line to knock Rio Grande’s Bevo Francis and his 113 points, from the record book.

Even NBA star Kevin Durant was impressed, tweeting:

Grinnell, who play an insanely up-tempo style called ‘The System’ where they usually put up a shot within 5 seconds of possession, won 179-104 against Faith Baptist Bible. They also usually sub players in and out in waves, with no-one playing more than 20 minutes, however that didn’t happen last night as the offense was clearly altered to favour Taylor’s outburst.

Faith Baptist’s David Larson had what would have been a headline grabbing statline on any other night, with 70 points on a much more efficient 34/44 shooting.

You can view the full box score from the game here.

Full game footage is yet to surface, but you can view an interview with Taylor on ESPN below, plus 47 of his points and his last 8 points:
