Check out highlights of NBA House in Covent Garden, London, from a few weeks back.
The event was hailed a huge success as more than 53,000 fans attended over the 9 days! It offered 500 square meters of basketball activities, along with appearances by two-time NBA Champion Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat, Hall of Famer David Robinson, and GB stars Pops Mensah-Bonsu, Kieron Achara and Dominique Allen.
NBA House featured 14 clinics and skills sessions, including NBA Cares programming, all of which focused on teamwork, leadership, and healthy living. The NBA Cares events included NBA Legends Bruce Bowen, John Amaechi, Robert Horry, and Sam Perkins interacting fans and children.
“NBA House brought a first-hand NBA experience to fans of all ages here in the heart of London,” said Benjamin Morel, Senior Vice President, NBA Europe. “This interactive event captured the excitement of our league, teams, and players in a truly iconic location, hosting fans and guests from around the world in a celebration of our global sport.”
NBA House engaged more than 20 million(!) fans on social media through the league’s various Facebook and Twitter pages, and featured an interactive twitter wall that displayed live tweets sent to #nba and #nbahouse. On site, fans shared their photos and videos from the Cisco Slam Cam and the HP Trophy Lift with their friends on Facebook and via email.
