England U18s Beat Romania, Move to 3-0

Tyrell Isaacs England U18s vs RomaniaEngland Under-18s won their third straight game at the U18 European Championship Division B in Sarajevo on Saturday, beating Romania 60-55 to keep their perfect record in tact.

Mirel-Claudiu Dragoste’s lay-up with 53 seconds to play closed the gap to 57-55 for the Romanians.

Dragoste then had a chance to tie the game but missed another lay-up and England made three free-throws down the stretch to seal victory.

Luke Nelson led England with 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, whilst Kingsley Okoroh joined him as the only other player in double figures with 11 points, to go along with 11 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.

England will now play Hungary on Sunday afternoon.

Fantastic 2nd half defensive performance holding Hungary to just 20 points saw England through to this victory. Half time talk from coaches Steve Bucknall and Karl Brown did the trick! Scotland tomorrow in the final Group A match up.
