Great Britain Under-20s secured the 2-1 series victory over Belgium this morning in Namur, beating the host side 79-71 in their final preparation game before the Division B European Championships next week.

Devon van Oostrum and Ali Fraser led GB with 18 points each, whilst Jesse Chuku added 16 as head coach Dave Smart was once again absent with illness.

Assistant coach John Campbell took the helm, and commented on the win:

“Down the stretch we made key defensive stops and were able to close the game today. We had excellent contributions from a variety of players in the final two minutes.”

GB open up the European Championships on Thursday 6 July against Portugal. Keep checking back to Hoopsfix for regular updates!

Please, some info on Ryan Richards. I am a Spurs fan who had high hopes for him, but now he seems to have fallen off the basketball globe. What is he doing now? Why not on Team Great Britain? Does he have some real problems?

L Mau – he has turned down the opportunity to play with GB teams this summer in order to try and make the Jamaican national squad

He’s too old for U20s anyway

Why can’t GB U20′s just announce the squad – if you follow the players on Twitter you can just about work it out but it is sooooo unprofessional
