Head coach Steve Bucknall has named the final 14 players under consideration for the U18 Division B European Championships that start in Bosnia & Herzegovina on August 9.

The side has just returned from a training camp in Belgium which gave Bucknall a further chance to evaluate the team. Talking on their return, he said:

“The training camp in Mons, Belgium was useful and gave us the final extended opportunity to view the team up-close and personal. This camp provided us with further evaluations of players but also gave us a chance to observe team dynamics and chemistry.

“The training was vigorous and precise and incorporated all aspect of the British Basketball AoE, including physical, mental, technical and tactical. We have now trimmed the squad down to 14 players whom are in contention for making the team for Bosnia.”

What a shame Sam Round has been released – got to remember he had only just finished his GCSE’s whilst others aleady have finished sixth form or are at work – let’s hope we see him in next years selection.

“England U18 Men 48-65 Belgium. Brian Nguru injured in yesterday’s tie and Kingsley Okoroh and Elvisi Dusha out of the country. Hope they are both back for the last camp next week ”

Brian has not been on any squadlist since before Christmas – is he under consideration ?
When will the team be selected, after tomorrow or after the next camp?
